Our Lady Queen of Peace Pastoral Area in the Archdiocese of Armagh, Ireland. The Pastoral Area is comprised of four parishes in mid Louth: Darver & Dromiskin, Kilkerley, Knockbridge & Louth.
We are sorry to hear of the death of your loved one.
Facing the death of a loved one is a very painful experience and draws upon our deepest emotions both mentally and spiritually.
If at any time now or in the future, you feel you need the support of a ‘listening ear’, we would be glad to help in providing just that.
Through Bethany trained volunteers the parish reaches out with a Bereavement Support Group, who provide a listening service to comfort and console those whose loved one has died. Whatever your bereavement, be it the death of a parent, spouse, brother, sister, child, relative or friend, we will do our best to help you.
Prayer in Time of Bereavement
Lord, you are close to the broken-hearted.
Be with me now in my grief and loneliness.
Give the courage to face my loss and not
to grieve in silence. Be with me as I struggle
with many different and painful feelings.
Ease the hurt in heart.
Encircle me in your love.
Help me to believe that one day I will no longer have this deep sorrow. May I find comfort in sharing my grief with those who understand me and the pain of my grief. Stay with me, support me. Help me to know that your power is at work within me as I deal with my grief. Amen.
The Bethany Bereavement Support Group is a voluntary, parish-based service that offers support to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
Grieving is a natural process and is often eased through the care and understanding of family and friends. However, at times, a bereaved person may benefit from the support of a trained listener who can help them journey through their loss in a gentle and positive way.
Feelings such as anger, guilt, fear, and sadness are a normal part of grief. These emotions need to be acknowledged, expressed, and understood in a safe and supportive environment.
The Bethany Bereavement Support Group provides a confidential and compassionate listening service for anyone who feels they would benefit from additional support during their time of loss.
