Our Lady Queen of Peace Pastoral Area in the Archdiocese of Armagh, Ireland. The Pastoral Area is comprised of four parishes in mid Louth: Darver & Dromiskin, Kilkerley, Knockbridge & Louth.
Our Sacristans play an essential role in the smooth running of Mass and parish liturgies across all our parishes. They are responsible for preparing the church for worship, ensuring that everything needed for Mass, such as the altar, sacred vessels, and liturgical books is ready and in proper order.
A key part of their role is training and supporting altar servers. Sacristans guide young parishioners in the duties of serving at Mass, teaching them how to assist the priest respectfully and reverently. Through this guidance, altar servers learn the movements, prayers, and responsibilities involved in their ministry, helping them to participate fully in the celebration of the Eucharist.
Our Sacristans work quietly behind the scenes, but their contribution is vital in ensuring that each Mass is dignified, prayerful, and welcoming for all who attend.
